Gina L. Smith

Gina Clelia (Lavieri) Smith, a longtime resident of Norwood, died Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Boston Medical Center South in Brockton.  She was 86.   Gina was born May 17, 1938 in Torrington, Connecticut, the daughter of Joseph and Clelia (DeCicco) Lavieri, immigrants from Italy.  She graduated from Torrington High School and worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Ebersol & Ebersol in Torrington. After her family moved to Massachusetts she worked as an executive assistant for the general managers at the Ritz-Carleton and the Sheraton Boston hotels. Gina was an avid reader, loved her walks (especially by the ocean), and she cherished her collection of bears.  She was the sister of the late Lillian Rosaria Lasinsky, and is survived by her exceptionally devoted friend, Gerry Frangiosa; her niece, Ellen (Lasinsky) Gibbs, and her husband William, of Cropseyville, New York, and their daughter Sarah Gibbs of Alabama.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11 am at the Folsom & May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood, MA.  Interment will be private.
