Hyde Park

Gloria Doris (Simon) Ganno, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Care Dimensions Hospice Home in Lincoln.  She was 86.  Gloria was born June 15, 1938 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only daughter, and one of the three children of Arthur and Helen (Greeno) Simon.  Gloria attended Suffolk University for two years before entering a career as an Executive Secretary for the First National Bank of Boston. Gloria was actively involved with many local groups including the West End Museum, the South End Historical Society, Boston by Foot, the Hyde Park Historical Society, Hyde Park Main Streets, Hyde Park Main Streets, the Women's Club of Boston, and the Hyde Park Friends of the Library. Her passions were reading writing and taking tours.  Gloria also wrote articles for the Hyde Park Bulletin and the Patriot Ledger. Gloria is survived by her husband, Salvatore "Bob" Ganno; her daughter, Renee D'Argento of Pepperell; her two sons, Greg DiCicco, and his former wife Faith Krusz, of Hyde Park, and Frank DiCicco of Hyde Park. She was the proud grandmother of Gregory DiCicco Jr. of Hyde Park and Ashlie DiCicco of Hyde Park.  She was also the sister of Tom Simon of Hanover, and the late Peter Simon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visitation from 10 am to 11:40 am on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Folsom Funeral Home 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  A Celebration of Gloria's life will follow the visitation starting at 11:40 am.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations to the West End Museum, 150 Staniford Street, Suite 7, Boston, MA 02114 would be appreciated.
