Gunta Hirsch

Gunta (Lapins) Hirsch, a resident of Canton, died Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home in Canton.  She was 83.  Gunta was born May 21, 1941 in Ventspils, Latvia, the only child of Zanis and Olga (Burlins) Lapins.  She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston University School of Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from the Simmons College Graduate School and worked as a nurse for the Boston VNA Association, the Canton Nursing Association ,and HESSCO from where she retired as a nurse manager in 2013. She was also the owner and operator of the Walpole Flower and Garden Shop.  Gunta is survived by her niece, Anda Spalvins of Norfolk; her cousins, Lilita (Spigulis) Ingram, and her husband Russ, of Canton, Viktor Spigulis of Canton, and Valdis Kazmirs, and his wife Inese, of Ventspils, Latvia; and three godchildren.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10 am at the Latvian Lutheran Church, 58 Irving Street, Brookline. Interment will be private.
