Helena Fontana passed away peacefully at the age of 87 with her husband George by her side. Born June 29, 1938 in Lynn, Massachusetts, and raised in Brookline, Massachusetts, Helena later made her home in Dedham, Massachusetts, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and community. Helena and George just this year moved to Clermont, Florida to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

Helena was married to George Fontana on February 9, 1963 and was the mother of Karein Macaulay, and her husband John, Wayne Hutchinson-Fontana, and his wife Diane, Ross Fontana, and his wife Mary, and Neal Fontana, and his wife Andrea. She was the proud grandmother to 13 and great grandmother to 11. To each she will be remembered for her love and support, and will be greatly missed.

Softball coach, girl scout leader, Allin Church, Rainbow girls, DeMolay Boys, Eastern Star, Masons and Grotto - she supported her family in every endeavor. Whether helping with organizing events, crafting for family and friends, Knitting cherished keepsakes or cheering from the bleachers, she brought energy and love wherever she went. At the sporting events she was famous for ringing her cowbell and calling out her signature "Woo woo woo" - a sound that became a symbol of encouragement and pride for her family. Helena served the community as a crossing guard at the Dedham Junior and Senior High Schools for nearly 40 years. In every season and all weather she ensured the safety of generations of children, greeting each one with the same care and kindness she gave her own family.

May God welcome Helena into his loving arms and may her memory continue to inspire all who knew her.
