James P. McGrath

James Peter McGrath, a Westwood resident, died unexpectedly Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham.  He was 76.  James was born December 21, 1948, one of the six children of Thomas and Eugenia (Kontrimas) McGrath.  He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University and worked as a commercial paper salesman for the International Paper Company.  James played hockey in his younger years and was an avid follower of college hockey and all Boston sports.  He is survived by his wife, Donna M. (Paoletti) McGrath; his two sons, James L. McGrath of Norwood, and Matthew T. McGrath of Westwood; and his sister, Joanne McGrath of Florida.  He was the brother of the late Frank, Thomas, and Paul MaGrath, and the late Eugenia Sarno.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, November 26th from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Private interment will be at New Westwood Cemetery.
