Jeanne Parsons of Dedham passed away July 2025 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Dedham, born and raised in that little slice of Heaven known as "the Manor." She grew up ice skating on Sprague's Pond, sledding in the hollow up at Capen School and mostly staying out of trouble hanging out with her crew. Following her graduation from Dedham High School and a brief foray to Florida with her future ex-husband, she returned to Dedham to begin what turned out to be a long career in the Norfolk Probate Court System. Jeanne's sharp mind and tender heart were well suited to the job of listening to the sometimes vulnerable and marginalized citizens that would arrive at the doorstep of probate court. Along the way, she completed her nursing degree at Mass Bay Community College. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Adrienne Parsons and cherished sister of Andrew of Portsmouth, RI, John of Foxboro, MA and Peter of Williamsburg, VA. She was a great sister and a valuable member of the community. The family is especially grateful for the care and attention she received from her neighbors in the Manor. Visitation with her family to celebrate Jeanne's life will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Tuesday, August 26th at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 27th at 10 am at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
