John Stuart Robinson

John Stuart Robinson died in Needham, MA on August 15, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on June 29, 1934 in Beijing, China, to Hugh Robinson and Olga (Olsen) Robinson, he and his three siblings grew up in a family devoted to education and public service. He received his BA from Brown University and his EdD from Harvard, and after teaching in the Newton public schools, he moved to Simmons College, serving for many years as dean. John was married Olga (Gemski) Robinson for 69 years. He was predeceased by his son, James Robinson, and his siblings, Charles Robinson, and Sigrid Terman, and is survived by his wife, Olga, and a son, Chase Robinson, of Falls Church, VA. John also leaves behind his sister, Mei Mei Spaulding, two grandchildren, Mayumi Robinson Anderson and Kazuo Robinson, and a great-grandchild, Ashima Anderson. Funeral Services will be private.
