Lorraine Ann (Memmo) McPhillips, a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, died peacefully Wednesday, September 16, 2026 surrounded by family. She was 83. Lorraine was born July 1,1943 in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rita L. (Baga) Memmo. Lorraine was the wife of the late James Henry McPhillips, and loving mother to Lynne A. Mortensen, and her husband Robert, of Hyde Park, James A. McPhillips, and his wife Keri, of Hingham, and Laurie A. McPhillips, and Joseph Rotondo, of Rockland, and grandmother to Daniel, Madelyn and Luke. She was the dear sister to Colette Sherman, of Readville and her husband Paul and the late Joseph and Henry Memmo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She graduated from Hyde Park High School. When her children were teenagers, she began working outside the home at Dedham Savings Bank in Dedham. She worked there for 30 years and retired as the branch manager of the Elm Street Branch. Lorraine was also the President of the Ladies Saint Anthony Society of Boston, and a regular volunteer at the Saint Anne's Church Bazaar in Readville. She was known for her kindness and warmth. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, September 23rd from 4 to 7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 24th starting at 8:45 am and proceed to St. Pius X Church, 101 Wolcott Road, Milton for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
