Marie G. Holton

Marie G. Holton (Kachele), of Dedham, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on June 9, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Paul J. Kachele and Marie M. (Sholes) Kachele, both of Boston. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard M. Holton, to whom she was happily married to for over sixty years. She is also survived by her children: Lynne Marie Papetti and husband, Dino of Norwood; Timothy Richard Holton and wife, Marie, of Dedham; Michael Patrick Holton and wife, Michelle, of Feeding Hills; and Laura Margaret Hayes and husband, Daniel, of Walpole; as well as her sister Arlene Fisher of Walpole. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Kachele, Jake Kachele, and Charlie Kachele.

Marie was the proud grandmother to Ava Papetti, Ryan Holton, Timothy Holton, Alyssa Holton, Andrew Holton, Benjamin Holton, Richard Hayes, and Mia Hayes.

Born in Boston, Marie spent her early childhood in Roslindale. She graduated from Dedham High School in 1959, where she met her future husband, Richard. They were married on October 17th, 1964, and raised their family on the best street in Dedham - Lincoln Street.

Marie was known for her quick wit and was thought of as a second Mom to many of her children’s friends. She built a home filled with love and laughter. She was an avid reader, talented painter, photographer, seamstress, baker, and so much more. She loved red geraniums, hydrangeas, and creating beautiful floral arrangements. She cherished her family vacations on Cape Cod.

She enjoyed watching her children play sports, from Dedham Youth Programs through Dedham High School and beyond. She was immensely proud of all her grandchildren and loved her time spent with them. Most of all, she was deeply devoted to her husband, Richard, and loved the life they built together.

As her health declined, Marie found joy in her grandchildren, sharing their latest accomplishments and enjoying quiet moments at home with her husband, Richard, listening to their favorite music on the record player.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 15th, 2025 from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends will gather at the Funeral Home, Monday at 9 am and proceed to St, Mary's Church, 420 High Street, Dedham for her funeral mass at 10 o clock.  Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.  Donations to the Dedham Boosters Club, PO Box 105, Dedham, MA 02026  or 6 Allen Lane, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
