Marilyn Ann (Sullivan) McDonald age 91 passed away peacefully at her home in Dedham, MA on September 29th. Born on November 15th, 1934, daughter of Daniel M Sullivan and Winifred L (Ballam) Sullivan and loving stepmom Martha (Webber) Sullivan. She was married to the late Ronald P McDonald for 69 wonderful years, who predeceased her three years ago. Sister of the late Claire Roberts and the late Lorraine Sanford. She is survived by her loving sister Martha (Sullivan) Donovan and her husband James Donovan of Norfolk, MA. Devoted Mother to her two daughters Stacey Marie (McDonald) Magro and her husband Paul R Magro of Mashpee, MA and Wendy Marie (McDonald) Loewen and her husband Mark F Loewen of Plainville MA. Devoted Grandy to Kyle, Isabella, Amanda, Sarah, and Great Grandy to Lani Jane, all of whom she loved dearly, and brought her much joy. She had many nieces and nephews who she treasured and adored. Marilyn was a DHS graduate, class of 1952 where she was a majorette and took great pride in her “baton twirling capabilities”. Marilyn loved riding horses in Dedham parades in her younger days, and joked about her family having the first tv on their street. Marilyn was a manager at Liberty Mutual, and then when her children were born, she was a stay at home mom. She had a love of reading, shopping, crossword puzzles, gory movies, dancing and watching cooking shows for recipes she never intended to make. She was the Matriarch of the Family, a true icon and fashionista, always “dressed to the nines” even at 8am on the ball fields to watch her Grandchildren play their sports. Marilyn was loved by her family, friends and amazing neighbors. We will never stop missing her quick wit, charm and wisdom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Endicott Public Library in Dedham.
