Maloof, Mildred P. (née Fischer), of Westwood, passed peacefully on April 24, 2026, with her daughter Nancy holding her hand while listening to Perry Como.
Mildred (“Millie”) joins her late husband, Samuel Maloof, and her brother, Joseph Fischer, at peace. Her memory is cherished by her children: Edward J. Maloof of New York City; James G. Maloof of Windham, NH; Robert P. Maloof of Westwood; Nancy M. Winn of Westwood; Ronald S. Maloof of Dedham; Marilyn L. Sykowski of Norwood; and Phillip A. Maloof of Rehoboth. Millie’s legacy includes 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
A spirited competitor, Millie was a nationally ranked badminton player whose determination and grace left a lasting impression on all who watched her play. Her skill as a card player was rivaled only by the laughter and connection she made around the table. Her love of the water was reflected in her tranquil swimming, finding both joy and peace in every stroke. Beyond her accomplishments, she was a deeply cherished friend, known for her warmth, loyalty, and ability to make others feel truly seen. She held a special place in her heart for the Falmouth cottage on Cape Cod, where time seemed to slow and life felt fullest. Millie will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, kind heart, and the many lives she touched so meaningfully.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 1 from 5–8 p.m. at Folsom Funeral Home (649 High Street, Westwood). Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (95 Deerfield Avenue, Westwood) followed by interment at New Westwood Cemetery.
