On September 11, 2026, Patricia A. Doherty “Pat” succumbed to her long health battle. Her resilience and strong-willed determination were no match for villainous Cancer.

Pat was born in Boston on February 10, 1955 and grew up in Dedham. She is predeceased by her parents, the late Victor E. Doherty, Jr. and Mary M. (née Zazzaretti) Doherty of Dedham. She leaves behind her loving sisters, Catherine M. Doherty of Marblehead and Maura J. Doherty-Mcintosh and her husband, Bruce, of Mansfield. She is also survived by her godchild, Brian Donegan of Norfolk, and her dear Kennedy, Piantedosi, Donegan and O’Brien cousins.

For more than thirty years, Pat, an RN, was employed by “the Faulkner” (Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital) in Jamaica Plain. She was highly respected by all her peers and well loved by her patients. Each summer Pat looked forward to camping in New Hampshire and the warmth of her campfires. Pat was also a voracious reader, an avid Sox and Pat’s fan and a food show junkie.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Westwood Public Library, c/o Friends of Westwood Public Library, 660 High Street, Westwood, MA 02090 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. A private family service will be held at a later date.
