Rudolph Hermosa

Rudolph H. Hermosa, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 86. Rudolph was born June 24, 1940 in St. Lucia, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, the son of Teofisto and Alejandra (Habon) Hermosa. He retired from the Coast Guard after 20 years of service to his country and then worked almost 20 additional years as a Health and Safety Manager for OSHA until his retirement in 2004. He was a member and Past Commander of VFW Post 2498 in Needham and a co-founder and Past President of PAMAS, the Philippine American Association, and an active member of the Filipino community in New England, as well as an active liaison with the Philippine Consulate of New York, and hosted the Philippine Consulate during their visits in Boston on behalf of the New England Filipino community Rudolph is survived by his wife, Leticia Agbulos (Calimlim) Hermosa; his daughter, Margaret Rice, and her husband Mark, of Walpole; his two grandchildren, Rudolph and Maria Rice; and his brother, Arturo Hermosa, of the Philippines. He was the brother of the late Ceasar Hermosa, and Liberty Acosta. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, August 30th from 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home, Monday, August 31st starting at 10 am and proceed with us to Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, in Walpole for Rudolph's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations to VFW Post 2498, 20 Junction Street, Needham, MA 02492 would be appreciated.
