Steven Poles, a resident of Dedham, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was 55.
Steven was born May 9, 1971, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Sergio and Elena (DiMascio) Poles, immigrants from Italy. He graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1989 and earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and his masters degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England University
Steven dedicated more than 20 years to the criminal justice system at Brighton District Court, including 10 years as an Assistant Clerk Magistrate.
Steven was a devoted fan of all Boston sports, especially the New England Patriots, and was rarely seen without one of his signature visors. He was especially proud that his daughter Mia was attending Indiana University and had recently become a Hoosier. He treasured time with his daughters, Mia and Brooke, whether sharing dinners, practicing softball in the backyard, watching comedy movies, or simply laughing together. Above all, Steven loved his daughters deeply and was incredibly proud of them.
He is survived by his two daughters, Mia Olivia Poles and Brooke Ella Poles, both of Westwood; his sister, Diana Poles of Norwood; and his former wife, Felicia Gloria (Miano) Poles of Westwood.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Folsom Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday starting at 8:30 a.m. and proceed with us to St. Susanna’s Church, 262 Needham Street, Dedham, for a Catholic Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Following cremation, Steven will return home to his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven’s memory to the American Heart Association at PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, or online at https://www.heart.org/en/, would be appreciated.
