Ignatidis, Emmanuel

Emmanuel Ignatidis, a resident of Dedham for over 21 year and formerly of Roslindale died suddenly Thursday, December 31, 2009. He was 68. He was born in Lesvos, Mitilini, Greece and was the son of the late Dimos and Stavroula (Korakas) Ignatidis. He served in the Greek Army as a young man and came to the United States in 1972. Mr. Ignatidis owned and operated the Blue Star Restaurant in Roslindale Square for over 22 years. He retired in 2004. He is survived by his beloved  wife of 38 years Georgia (Gregoriou) Ignatidis of Dedham.; his son Demos Ignatidis of Dedham and his daughter Trandafilia Ignatidis also of Dedham. He is also survived by his sister’s Mirsini Loukos of Norwood, Maria Sevastos of Mansfield and Alexandra Pappas of Norwood and many nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Theodoros Ignatidis. Visiting hours will be held Sunday January 3, 2010 4-8 pm at Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale. Funeral Services Monday from the funeral home at 10 am with an  11 O’cock service at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 39 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale, Ma. 02131. Burial at Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Nectarios Chruch, address listed above.

    Georgia, Demos and Lisa,

    We just wanted to tell you how sorry we were when we heard of Mani’s passing. He was a kind and generous man and a wonderful neighbor. We will miss him.
