Uhl, Helen M. Grow

Helen Matilda (Armstrong) Grow Uhl, a lifelong resident of Norwood, died Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 98. Helen was born December 28, 1924 in Norwood, Massachusetts the daughter of Fred and Karin (Wickman) Armstrong, immigrant from Sweden. She graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1942. Helen worked as an accountant for several banks an auto dealerships. She was an owner and dispatcher of Norwood Taxi. Helen was a member of the United Church of Norwood and was active at the Norwood Senior Center. She loved dancing and was an avid knitter and member of the Norwood Knitting Club. Helen is survived by her three sons; Norman E. Grow, and his wife Bonnie Jo, of Attleboro, David G. Grow, and his wife Mary, of Attleboro, and Jeffrey A. Grow of Norwood; her three grandchildren, Krystal Santoro, Traci Grow, and Meghan Grow; and her great granddaughter, Ella Santoro. She was the mother of the late Robert M. Grow and the sister of the late Norman Armstrong. Services and interment in Highland Cemetery in Norwood were private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 would be appreciated.

    I loved Helen’s smile and her welcoming personality. I’m so sorry for your loss. Helen is missed. My Grandmother and Helen were great roommates and they were fond of each other.
